Indie music and fashion is all based on being individual (hence the term “indie.”) If you’re into indie music, you might be artistic, environmentally-conscience, or rebellious of mainstream ideas since these are all qualities that the culture promotes. Indie music has changed slightly from being the underground and independently-produced music that it was when the genre originally aired to a popular genre; especially in college student or art communities. Indie music does have a fashion style that goes with the genre, but it is really about being yourself, being individual, and having your own unique and personal style. One thing that tends to remain indie chic is staying away from mainstream brands. PLNDR features some of the best underground brands out there, so you won’t ever be caught wearing the same outfit as your friend again (unless you plan it.) Vintage-inspired looks are very indie and the style also features a lot of cool accessories to make your own individual style stand out! As long as you’re being yourself, you’re being indie.
