NBA Releases High Heels For Women Who Want To Rep Their Teams
If you’ve ever envied the over the top shoes celebrity fans and wives like Beyoncé and Lala Anthony wear to basketball games, now you can be just like them. The NBA has partnered with a footwear company called Herstar to release a line of suede and crystalized high heels featuring logos from prominent NBA teams. The crystalized heels are 6 inches high and feature a 3 inch platform. The heels will be sold for $249.99. If the sheer mention of 6 inch heels scares you they make a suede version of the shoe which features a 4 inch heel with a 2 inch platform.
I wonder how popular these heels are going to be among female NBA fans. Personally I think it would be great if they offered the crystalized heels in a wearable 4 inches because they are actually kind of cute – not that I will be spotted repping a basketball team in 4 inch heels anytime soon. If you want to rep your basketball team in crystalized 6 inch heels check out the collection below!
Opening Ceremony and Adidas London Olympic Games Collaboration
This summer is going to be a gold medal and 90s streetwear summer for retailer Opening Ceremony. The brains behind the multifaceted retailer Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Opening Ceremony with a pop up store in London during the Olympic Games. To mark the celebration of the 10th anniversary, Opening Ceremony has collaborated with Adidas to create a cool and sporty chic collection reminiscent of 90s streetwear. A majority of the clothes featured in the collection were inspired by swimming and cycling.
Of the collection Opening Ceremony said:
The mostly unisex collection uses a range of dynamic fabrics including dry-swim spandex, neoprene, nylon twills, and reflective finishes. For girls, sleek body-con dresses, halter tops, and peplum dresses leap ahead of the pack, while for the boys, crisp chambray shirting, French terry polos and oversize neoprene parkas round out a fresh and youthful collection. Footwear follows the collection’s 90s motif, featuring unisex jelly sandals and printed neoprene water-socks. Other highlights include our reinterpretation of the classic Samba sneaker, as well as a bold new BMX-style high-top with a discreet printed sole
In the past Adidas has collaborated with the likes of Missy Elliot, Big Sean, Katy Perry and Jeremy Scott to create successful collections which became a hit among fans of streetwear and urban fashion. This collaboration with Adidas is slightly different from but let’s see how well it will be received.
Martin Margiela and H&M Collaboration
If you’re a Jay Z fan you’ve definitely heard this line in the popular “All Black Everything Anthem” – “Run This Town.”
Well in a couple of months average people like us can be fresh like Jay Z in the upscale Belgian Fashion designer’s clothes without having to shell out a week’s worth pay check.
The fashion house is teaming up with H&M to release a collection on November 15, 2012
Charlotte Olympia Cruise 2013 Shoe Envy
Charlotte Olympia never disappoints with any of her collections and the 2013 Cruise collection is no exception. The drool worthy collection includes platforms, sky high heels, and the brands signature island platform. The collection features a lot of color blocking, which is definitely a trend that is here to stay, and animal prints.
I don’t know about you but I definitely do not have $1,000 to spend of a pair of shoes. But don’t fret because you can find fabulous shoes on PLNDR to recreate the color blocking, animal prints, and the signature island platform seen in the Charlotte Olympia collection. The leopard print platforms are a personal favorite. I can match them with so many outfits and I absolutely love their “girly but edgy” look.
