Heather: What’s currently inspiring ArtistiCreation?

Marv, Owner & Creative Director: Life itself inspires us. From childhood memories, our college experience, to dumb stuff we do today. Anything could be part of ArtistiCreation if we feel it fits the message we are trying to get across.

H: Who do you design your pieces for?

M: We design for individuals who are bold and uncut. When they wear our product they standout because our designs are bold and it shows that they are confident with who they are as a person. Fuck everyone else’s thoughts.

H: What do we have to look forward to from you guys in the coming seasons?

M: We’re concentrating on the maturity of our brand with custom cut and sew pieces while still providing dope graphic tees.

Brandon, Brand Manager: The heart & soul of any streetwear brand is their graphic tees. So we plan on continuing to drop dope designs, while we explore and take our time with the Cut & Sew side of things.  We’re also working on getting into more shops around the country and planning on attending more trade shows this year.  More specifically though, we just dropped our Spring Collection and have a nice little snapback coming out in a couple weeks, so stay tuned.  Follow us on twitter to stay up on everything A.Creation: @ArtistiCreation

What are your:

Three favorite AC pieces ever?

M: Of course our Boogie ghost logo. The Ice Grillz design and the Californication tee.

B: Besides our trademark Boogie Logo designs…my three favorites are the Californication Tank, Ice Grillz, and probably The Renegades design ’cause the Raiders are my team and adding Boogie to the mix makes it that much better.

 Favorite pair of sneakers?

M: Since most of us involved with AC are sneakerheads, I would have to say Jordan 11 retros concord addition. Can’t go wrong with a pair Retro J’s.

B: My favorite pair of kicks are probably my Jordan 5′s.  But honestly, I wear a pair of Vans Classics about 95% of the year.

Five most prized possessions?

M: I would have to say in no specific order… My PS3, Ipod, Iphone, Imac, and last but not least my piggy bank.

B: Macbook Pro, iPhone, Monster Beats, Technics, and my striking good looks (that counts as a possession right?)

H: What advice do you have for designers just starting out?

M: Just from the mistakes we’ve made, the advice I would give is research, persistence, and more research. It’s a tough business and is not as easy as it may seem.

B: My best advice would be to have a plan.  A lot of people have one design and then try to call it a company.  More often then not, it turns out to be a waste of time and money.  Which brings me to my next piece of advice: have some capital.  It’s not absolutely necessary, but it definitely helps.

H: What was high school like for you?

M: High School was a great experience for me only because I sold candy and used the money to buy clothes and shoes. Which made me pretty popular by default. The ladies loved the guys with the latest kicks.

B: Honestly, high school was awesome.  Life was simple back then: Sports, Girls, & Friends.

Fill in the blank. If I wasn’t at ArtistiCreation, I’d be ______________________.

M: ….Dr. Love at some radio station.

B: ….working at a Hostel somewhere in Spain.  Partying.

H: What were the last five songs played on your iPod?

B: The last 5 artists:  The Weeknd ; Saves The Day ; Blockhead ; Michael Kiwanuka ; Pac Div

H: What’s the best lyric of all time?

M: Something that always stuck with me is the words “Get money, fuck bitches”

B: Hmm, that’s a tough one.  I would say it’s between, “Bitches ain’t shit but hoes and tricks.” or “All you need is love.”  I guess it just depends on the day.
