First off, if you’re looking for the next big star, look no further. Sid Sriram is the definition of a hidden gem (RIP Jay Sean’s career). His melodic notes not only left me speechless, but he’s not afraid to pay tribute to his Indian roots, which is a rare quality to possess these days. He hits every note with precision, never misses a beat and does it with soul. I took the time to really sit down and listen to his music, and instantly fell in love, I hope you will too. His originals are just as good as his covers, if not better. This past April he performed an exclusive showcase at The Breeding Ground in Brooklyn. The video/audio was packaged into an EP which Karmaloop’s own, Society backs. Sid’s vision was to put forth the vulnerability, energy and emotion of a live show through a sophisticated visual and aural aesthetic. In a time where studio tweaks and effects can make vocals sound “mint” (thanks auto tune), this project shows that there’s something to be said about delivering music in a raw setting. I’ve picked out a few of my personal favorites so you guys can really get a feel for his passion, and if you dig what you hear the info. to download his newest EP, A Conscious Mind, is below. Enjoy!

Personal favorite. I lovelove.love the way he brings his roots in towards the end of the track.
I honestly like his version better than the original, and many have agreed with that statement.
The EP is produced by Sid Sriram, with video direction by Arthur Johnson, engineering/mixing/co-production by Tariq Khan.
